Before the bishop blesses his people, he asks that you pray to the Lord to bless me, the prayer of the people for the blessing of their bishop. When I first heard this request for prayer I had trouble understanding it. The pope is supposed to bless us and then get on with all of his popely duties. He asked us to pray for HIM?
